From 1982 - 1987, a compendium of bedroom tapes of varying complexity, quality and originality.

The bedroom tapes period was the most productive in the band's history. Once every three months the main members would meet in Bristol and in the course of single weekend write, play and record three, four, or in some cases, 10 or more new songs.

As the title suggests, the songs were all recorded in varying bedrooms around the country. These songs were first recorded on a simple cassette player, with an internal mic, later sessions feature more sophisticated technology, such as mixing desks, straight to tape recordings from three instruments, a simple drum machine and eventually basic multitracking via a Fostex 4 track tape recorder.

These were often exchanged by post, and cassettes of the finished songs distributed in the same way.

Some of these songs were never finished, and we plan to re-record a number of them as part of the Boss MicroBR project, as well as any new compositions that occur to us.

Is there a song from the archive you'd like us to re-record? Let us know.
